Rheged is a couple of minutes’ drive from the M6 (J40) at Penrith along the A66 towards Keswick.

Regular bus services between Penrith and Keswick stop at Rheged. Visit traveline.info for timetables. 

Our 250-space car park is free for Rheged visitors, but if you plan on staying longer than 5 hours, please register your number plate with a colleague in our café or deli to avoid a car parking charge. Once registered, you can stay for an additional 7 hours (max 12 hours total).

Please note that the car park closes when Rheged closes. It is locked and unattended overnight.

Accessibility

Rheged is fully wheelchair accessible. Disabled toilets are located on the ground floor near the main entrance and on the first floor in Making Space. There is also one disabled toilet in the Filling Station. There are two lifts within Rheged. To visit the Shops, Gallery, Children’s area or Gather (seating area), please use the lift located by the entrance on the right-hand side before the Ticket Desk. To reach our Cinema or Creative Classroom, please use the lift located to the right of the Cafe by the stone pillar.

We also have a Changing Places facility inside our Filling Station. This has controlled access via radar key in order to keep it in clean and available to those who need it. Please speak to a member of our team if you have any problems accessing the facility.

Please ask at the ticket desk next to the Deli if you require assistance or additional directions. For a personal evacuation plan, please contact us in advance of your visit.

Fuel & Charge

On the move? At Rheged we have a Esso-branded Filling Station with Unleaded, Diesel and Supreme+ 99 Unleaded, plus AdBlue on pump for HGV and car drivers. We also offer free air and Nectar points. In our main car park we have two 6ok GRIDSERVE dual electric car-charging points at 69p per kWh (price is subject to change).

Toilets

Toilets are located on the ground floor next to the main entrance (including disabled toilet), on the ground floor next to the Cafe and on the first floor in Making Space (including disabled toilet). Our Filling Station has one male, one female and one disabled toilet.
