We are delighted to welcome ZooLab expert ranger Tristan and his exotic animals this August (10th, 15th and 25th) to look at the fascinating topic of DINOSAURS and through a hand on activity discover the clues to evolution.
This interactive workshop looks at well-known dinosaurs in the movies (from the Indominus Rex in Jurassic Park to Littlefoot in The Land before Time) and how the dinosaurs are ‘put together’ – the inspiration and the biological fact (and fiction) behind the film dinosaurs, all drawn directly from the natural world. Children become aware that the evolutionary past is not as remote as it would first appear…
See how some animals can change colour and body temperature and cope with widely different temperatures and types of environment. It is all part of a voyage of discovery into how animal senses have adapted and how animal characteristics have developed over time. These workshops combins creativity and imagination to uncover the big ideas of science and stimulate a keen interest in young minds.
ZooLab workshop means that everybody will get to meet some of our animal colleagues too including a boa constrictor, bull snake, corn snake, tegu, horned dragon, tortoise, giant millipede, a variety of tarantulas, desert hairy scorpion, Tanzanian centipede, cockroaches and pygmy hedgehog.
Parental Supervision required. Adults do not need a ticket for this event.
