‘Make a Porcelain Applique Tile’ with Gwen Bainbridge of Gwen Bainbridge Ceramics, Brougham Hall, Penrith

‘Make a Porcelain Applique Tile’ with Gwen Bainbridge of Gwen Bainbridge Ceramics, Brougham Hall, Penrith

Using cutters and wooden stamps, create a beautiful relief tile in Porcelain. Gwen has developed her own methods of decoration within ceramics, with a very distinctive style, which she will demonstrate to help you create your own textured tile. It can then be taken away and fired (optional, at a small additional cost), taking pride of place in your home, framed or set into a wall. No experience necessary.

Biography

Gwen Bainbridge started her business in 2001 when she was teaching ceramics at Cumbria College of Art and Design. She has exhibited both nationally and within Europe, demonstrating to audiences as far away as Munich as well as up and down the UK. Having done a PGCE and taught from Primary up to Degree level, she has gained a great deal of experience of how people learn. Gwen has seen at first hand the pleasure that can be gained from creating something and enjoying that experience alongside fellow crafters.
