Free talk* – ‘Light, Big Game – Action! – Photographing on Safari’ with Ann and Steve Toon Wildlife Photography
What’s it like getting lens to trunk with an elephant, tracking lions after dark, or coming face to face with a beautiful female leopard? Showcasing a varied range of favourite wildlife images from many visits to the leading game reserves of southern Africa, find out how Ann and Steve learnt to exploit the wonderful light, dramatic events and incredible subjects they encountered. Alongside some of our hard-earned tips on photographing wildlife, Ann and Steve will explain how to get the most from that trip of a lifetime.
A Northumberland-based, husband and wife team of former journalists turned professional wildlife photographers, Ann and Steve’s specialist area and passion is the wildlife and wild places of southern Africa which they have been visiting regularly to photograph for the last 20 years. Their work is represented by leading photographic agencies, in numerous magazines, in three books they have published and they have won a number of photography awards. They have a deep interest in conservation, run photo workshops and lead photographic safaris to some of Africa’s top wildlife destinations.
