MASTERCLASS: Beginner’s Guide to English Paper Piercing with Leah Halliday
A fantastic beginner’s workshop, where you’ll be introduced to the traditional patchwork technique of English Paper Piecing or EPP. It’s extremely therapeutic, addictive and a simple method of patchwork. This sociable practice is perfect for busy lives as it’s easily picked up and put down according to your time. It’s no wonder EPP is enjoying such a resurgence, as it’s a versatile, completely portable and a marvellous way to make use of scrap fabrics. During this workshop, you’ll learn the techniques to create hexagons, and how to cut and use paper pieces to make accurate shapes. You’ll then learn the methods of how to attach vintage fabrics from Leah’s collection and hand stitch these together.
The hexagon flowers made at the class can be used to create a unique pincushion or adorn bags, cushions – or if you become completely addicted, stitch them and others together to create a cherished heirloom quilt.
