Dalefoot Composts offer a wide range of locally produced peat free composts using wool and bracken sourced from the Lake District Fells. Made from 100% natural ingredients which release all the must-have nutrients required for healthy plants throughout the growing season, removing the need to add plant food. The hygroscopic qualities of wool also mean the composts retain moisture so plants will need 50% less watering. The range boasts Wool Compost for potting and containers, Wool Compost for Vegetables and Salads, Wool Compost Ericaceous, Wool Compost Double Strength and Wool Compost for Seeds. Jane Bradley is a basketmaker living and working in South Lakeland. She makes baskets from willow, rush and other hedgerow plants and runs basketry courses for all ages. One of her rush handbags won the award for ‘Best Basket’ in a competition run by the Worshipful Company of Basketmakers in 2014. She is a member of the Cumbria Basketmakers Group.

Jo Vincent creates bespoke architectural glass and interior accessories for private and commercial clients. From large scale chandeliers, windows and wall panels to kitchen splasbacks, door handles and mirrors. She mainly works to commission and welcomes visitors to her studio in Kendal to discuss projects, view samples and buy finished pieces.

I am a practising artist based in Dumfries and Galloway working to commission and for exhibition. My work fuses elements of painting and sculpture to produce highly individual mosaic screens and wall hangings, as well as other 3-Dimensional mixed media pieces. I have developed a very individual approach to mosaic, often using hand-moulded materials and hand-painted ceramics with traditional materials. My work has been shown nationally and internationally.

Laura Sowerby is a new, small design company based in the Lake District. From her joyously detailed and bold linocut prints, Laura has created repeat patterns for furnishings featuring intricate botanical forms which reflect a love of nature and colour. Miles-Moore Ceramics is the South Cumbria Studio of Siobhan and Martin Miles-Moore. They both work extensively with local materials; minerals, wood ashes and sands, to bring a sense of place to their work. Much of Martin’s work explores rituals around eating and drinking and our connection to our environment through these. This can be seen in his bespoke dining ware for some of the best chefs in the country and his passion for tea bowls and bonsai planters. Siobhan creates one off indoor and outdoor sculpture that explore perspective and the importance of understanding our sense of place.

Rachel Kelly is a Lake District based innovative printed paper and textile designer. Rachel’s most noted work has been the development of Interactive Wallpaper, a product and approach to design which shares design thinking, making and resolutions with the client. Rachel’s projects range from the domestic to the public and include the BBC, Habitat, Ruthin Craft Centre, MRC Clinical Sciences Centre and NHS Trusts. Rachel’s work is held in the collections of the V&A and The Whitworth.
Roxanne Denny designs and makes each piece by hand with a focus on quality and attention to detail. She produces a range of fused glass home accessories including wall art, bowls, coasters and candle holders. Colour and pattern are themes which occur frequently in her work and as such there are many abstract and geometric designs and bright, vivid colours.
