Create! at Rheged

Create is a pottery painting workshop within Rheged suitable for all ages. Come and have fun designing a pottery masterpiece ready to take home in less than an hour! Choose from mugs, plates, bowls or a selection of your favourite children's characters and get creative with our special paints. We bake your finished masterpiece to make it food and dishwasher safe.

We have stencils and images to inspire and our staff are on hand to offer advice.

A relaxing activity which is far easier than it looks. Relax with fresh coffee and cakes from Rheged's bakery while you paint!

How much does its cost?
Items range in price from £3.50 - £6.95. 
All you pay for is the item you want to paint. Unlike other pottery painting studios we have no extra hidden costs like a studio fee or glazing and postage. We bake your item and you can take it home in less than an hour.

What do you do?
1. Pick an item from our wide selection and pay
2. Paint: our staff will get you started with help from books, stencils and images
3. Painting an item you would eat/drink from? We bake it in 30 minutes, why not go for a snack, pop around the shops or see one of our fab 3D films?
Painting a figurine or moneybox? It will dry in approx. 15 minutes.

Opening Hours
10.00am til 5.30pm with last entry at 4.00pm (Summer)
10.00am til 5.00pm with last entry at 3.30pm (Winter)

Schools/Activity Groups
Create is a great group activity thats fun for everyone from Brownies and Guides to foreign exchange groups and adult team building. We will bake your pots while you visit the rest of the centre or collect them at a later date. We have two payment options, choose the one most suitable to your needs:

Option 1: Pay for each item you paint from £3.50 - £6.95
Option 2: Pay £3.95 per person and paint one item of any price
