Civil Ceremonies

The Rheged Centre is licensed to hold civil ceremonies and has a choice of contemporary rooms bursting with natural daylight.

We think the red carpet provides the perfect aisle, but decoration of the room is entirely up to you; whatever you decide we will be happy to help.

Before confirming your booking you need to contact the Superintendent Registrar to check availability, telephone 01768 242120.

As you would expect, our wedding co-ordinators at the Rheged Centre and the Westmorland Hotel work very closely with each other and if you have booked your wedding at Rheged you are welcome to book guest accommodation at our hotel. Alternatively you may wish to hold an intimate Civil Ceremony at the hotel followed by a more adventurous evening celebration at Rheged, only a 15 minute drive from the hotel.

As an alternative, take advantage of our unique partnership with Greystoke Castle. Only a 10 minute drive from Rheged, Greystoke Castle offers another amazing venue for your Civil Ceremony.
